Along with a new site design, I am happy to announce that my chamber work Tracing Shadows is going to be premiered by the UNT Chamber Symphony on Tuesday November 13!
Check out the event page for more details.
Vistors may have noticed a problem with google doc viewer being sized wrong on certain web browsers. This issue should now be fixed.
A bit delayed, but thought I should announce that I was selected as the recipient for the 2012 BGSU Studio Arts Award! Many thanks to Dr. Elainie Lillios for her assistance during the thesis preparation process.
Music Catalogue has been updated with new works and integrated with SoundCloud playback for ease of listening. Complete Catalogue removed in favor of ensemble type listings.
Some exciting news in the pipeline, will post when able!
I am pleased to announce that my work Tracing Shadows has been awarded one of the 2012 BMI Student Composer Awards!
Congratulations to all my fellow award recipients for their excellent work!
Small update to my catalogue: Dusk Emergent (2012) for trombone added.
Upcoming events added to events page!
Score samples added to the “Complete Catalogue” page. Audio examples added directly to catalogue as well. (These have yet to be added to the sub-categories, so for now check the complete catalogue if you want to view or hear examples of my music)
Welcome to the new josephlyszczarz.com. This website is one of many things I’m excited about in the upcoming months. WordPress will make the act of updating my site much, much easier than it has been in the past, so hopefully you will be seeing more regular postings. I may also throw in some music blogging in my spare time. I’m sure my vast, vast audience will consume my posts rabidly….
Things coming up: a piece for Flute and Live Electronics is next on the docket. This will be my first foray into this medium, and I am extremely excited about it. Downside: I have a month to write it. This will be interesting.
Also in the somewhat-near future: my awaited piece for flute and electric guitar. I’ve been withholding it due to my rampant perfectionism, but I have some specific ideas for how to rework parts of it. I’m hoping it won’t take very long, but since doctoral applications and thesis writing takes up so much time I won’t get to it until the close of the semester.
The next major project will be a chamber work for fl, cl, vl, vc, pn, and perc. (possibly voice too…but probably not for various reasons.) It will be a bit of time before I’m able to devote myself to that, however.
New audio has been added to the audio sample page! Check it out if you have a chance!
My website has been long overdue for an update. In mulling over how to optimize my site, it also occurred to me that I was sick of the iweb template I was using before. I thought then perhaps wordpress would be the way to go, so here is my new website experiment. More news soon!
